As dad and Mirjan haven’t been at the top of Mt. Wellington, we decided to go to the top today. From the top Rob and Mirjan would walk down to Lenah Valley via the Zig-Zag Track (the one I walked partially on my first visit), Organ Pipes and the Old Hobartian Track. From Lenah Valley they would get picked up. Dad and I would drive down to The Springs, to take a circuit walk via the Pinacle Track and Organ Pipes.

So halfway the morning we headed to the top, having the luck that today the weather was excellent for a good view. So we used our luck to take some photo’s showing how far you could look away. On the top we wished Rob and Mirjan a pleasant walk and from that point our paths would separate for the moment. Although I’d loved to walk down from the top as well, I promised dad to stay with him. So I’ll have to do the descent on another visit. After staying at the top for another while we also left and drove down to the starting point of our walk.

Our walk hasn’t been categorised as a hard track, but in real the Pinacle Track is much harder. I knew we would climb from 700m to 1000m but I didn’t expect it to be so tough. It was a good thing that there was a bench at the start of the Organ Pipes, so we could catch our breath again. On the way up to this bench we enjoyed the view and nature, including an Echidna that didn’t felt disturbed by us and loads of birds, grasshoppers and reptiles. After the break we continued our walk via the horizontal route of the Organ Pipes. I say horizontal as halfway the walk we heard (and a bit later saw) some climbers taking the vertical route. At the moment I saw the climbers I realised how high the Organ Pipes really are. After continuing the track until we had a view at Glenorchy we turned around and walked back to the Sawmill Track. The Sawmill Track is a pretty steep descent taking you from halfway the Organ Pipes to Pinacle Road (the road to the top), from where
